Pool design software, AI image generators, and Pool Vision AI
Five tools to show a client their future pool, and they do not all do the same job. A factual comparison, checked on each tool's official website in October 2026.

Which tool for which job?
You need the full custom design and its documents → 3D design software
Freeform shapes, grading, outdoor kitchens, spec sheets: this is what Pool Studio and Vip3D are built for. Pool Vision AI does not do that.
You want quick inspiration images → an AI image generator
To explore styles and moods in seconds, a generator such as MyPoolDesigner.ai is the fastest route.
You want several AI variants on the client's backyard photo → GenRoom or Pool Planner AI
Both start from a photo of the backyard and let the AI generate the pool in several shapes and deck finishes. GenRoom states a free start at sign-up; Pool Planner AI does not state a free trial. Neither states real-dimension placement or design documents on its website.
You want the client to recognize their own backyard → Pool Vision AI
At the first meeting, before any design work: one phone photo, the pool at the size you are quoting, and a render where the client sees their own house and trees around it. It works alongside your design software, not instead of it.
Questions
Does Pool Vision AI replace a 3D pool design program?
No. A 3D design program produces the full, dimensioned design and its documents. Pool Vision AI does one thing: it shows the pool on a photo of the client’s real backyard, at its real size, so they can picture it at the first meeting. Many builders will use both.
How is it different from an AI image generator?
A generator creates a new image. Pool Vision AI starts from your client’s photo and adds the pool to it: the house, the fence and the trees are left as they are, and the pool is placed at the dimensions you chose.
What are the limits?
It handles rectangular pools today, with liner, coping, deck and cover options. Freeform shapes are coming soon. The render is a visual simulation to help a client decide. It is not a construction document.
Judge for yourself: your first 2 renders are free
Take a photo of a backyard you are quoting and see the pool in it, at its real size.
